Drone Launch Academy is exactly what I’ve been looking for as I get started on this new venture. Not too far down on their website I saw they had an Apple podcast and WOW, I’ve started listening and the people that are featured on the show the perspective that is shared is top notch - invaluable! SO glad I found this resource early on!

Best podcast out there

I started the podcast from the beginning and it’s been so informative. I’ve signed up for my 107, mini tutorial and will be doing the aerial photo very soon. I’m glad i came across the podcast. Now I’ve caught up and it drives me nuts waiting for the next episode

Goldmine!

Stumbled across this podcast a few weeks ago and I cannot stop bingeing it! My teenage sons and I are starting our drone business and this is a freaking goldmine for motivation, inspiration, and answered questions. One of goals is to one day soon be on this podcast as the first father and sons interview! Can’t wait! Keep up the good work and I always look forward to the next episode. :) You guys are AMAZING!

Great way to share stories and learn

This is a great podcast. I am still new and just started studying to take my part 107 exam. I am going to be retirement soon from law enforcement and looking for a new career. Drones are so excited and think the industry is going to explode with new ideas! Thanks for sharing how people make $$ doing something they enjoy.

Beyond Helpful Since Day One

I’ve been a listener through Spotify since shortly after the first season came out and haven’t looked back since. I’m a UAS Operator in the Army who’s looking to get out soon and a vast majority of my insight on how I would like to transfer my knowledge to the civilian world has come from this podcast and countless hours of independent research. I drive a fair bit everyday and this podcast always makes it to the morning playlist! It’s great to see the endless possibilities drone operations have and Hearing the individuals stories gives me hope that I’ll one day make my future company a major success!

Essential for drone entrepreneurs

If you’re in the drone business, or looking to start one, this is the perfect podcast for you. This podcast touches on so many aspects of running a drone business, including how to market it, price it, run it, and keep the paying customers happy and coming back for more. The cool thing is the guests they have are down to earth normal people that oftentimes stumbled into the drone business. They started with basic drones, enjoyed the hobby, found a way to make some money, and kept it going. The guests generally aren’t these people who are professional videographers making movies full-time. They’re mostly ordinary people using drones as a side hustle for things like real estate, events, roof inspections, and anything a motivated drone operator can get into without huge hurdles. One of the best parts is the guests share what’s possible. They share how much they’ve made, and how much they charge, which makes expectations for the budding entrepreneur more realistic…..I can’t wait for the next season to come out. Truly a wealth of knowledge in every episode!

Very informative

I really enjoy listening to this podcast. David does a good job asking all the questions that we are all thinking and it seems like all the guests are enthusiastic about being on the show. I know I’ve applied some of the techniques and tips I’ve learned on the show to my buisness and it’s helped me out!

Awesome ideas!!

Stumbled upon the Drone to 1k Podcast after finding the webpage on hints for starting a drone business. I’m are recently retired school administrator that’s trying to start a drone business for real estate marketing. So many great ideas on how to approach getting started. I’ve listen to season 3 first and was blown away at all the great ideas. I have pages of notes on things I now want to try. I’m also considering branching out as I’m getting started on roof and solar panel inspections. Thanks David for hosting the podcast and the great interviews.

Patrick Whalen - Season 4 Episode 8

I found this podcast very informative and inspiring! Patrick Whalen was unable to continue working his normal job when the pandemic struck. He had the foresight and self drive to learn a new skill as a drone pilot and start a new business. He used many of his previous business skills/contacts and incorporated them into his new business. Patrick wasn’t afraid to take a risk by investing in himself and new business by networking, hustling, free work to gain experience, asking questions, listening to potential clients needs, investing in his clients, promoting his new skills and equipment, learning how to sell himself/drones/services and honesty. His hard work, personality and ability to provide an end product to his clients resulted in a successful business!

New to Drones

I have been flying aircrafts for awhile and getting certificates but it has hit the bank account pretty hard, I have now landed a job in IT and want to start a side business and hoping for it to take off and do it full time and you all have got me on the right path! Wondering about drones?

I just recently found this podcast and also recently got my first drone. I think I may change my ‘recreational’ flying to perhaps start making some side money! Very informative podcast and I like that a lot of these people started out just like me, flying for fun. I especially enjoy the 2 truths and a lie question that you can attempt. I’ve started taking notes so I can get it right!

Inspirational for the Beginners

This week’s episode with Maryland Drone Guy is just the inspiration that I’ve been needing to get started! I’ve been a drone enthusiast and Part 107 licensed pilot since 2016, but have never taken the necessary steps to make it a true side hustle. I too have a full time job, enjoy flying and taking videos and photos but just haven’t had the confidence to put myself out there. This episode did it for me. It’s time! Great job guys!!!
